Planning, Advisory, and Field Support
- Wilderness route design for remote, less crowded public lands.
- Ultralight gear systems that reduce pack weight without sacrificing safety, comfort, or confidence.
- Off-trail route planning, campsite selection, and travel judgment for mountains, canyons, tundra, and deserts.
- Comprehensive effort, fatigue, and risk analysis support for route design and alternatives using TRIPS.
- Health, safety, water treatment, food storage, leave no trace, and risk-management practices specific to the destination.
- Experience planning for packrafting, fishing, bivy camping, peak-bagging, photography, wildlife observation, and other trip goals.

- Video calls as the core communication method for onboarding, planning reviews, Q&A, and skills preparation.
- Comprehensive gear list with recommendations matched to the route, season, and group.
- Individual phone and email support for participant-specific questions.
- Route plan and itinerary with maps, waypoints, GPX files, digital map guidance, and field opportunities.
- Training recommendations, pre-trip gear shakedown, and menu guidance.
Possible Package Components
Packages may combine consulting, advisory, planning, outfitting guidance, and guiding services depending on the trip objective, destination, risk profile, and group needs.
- Guiding services for private trips where in-field leadership, route judgment, skills coaching, or risk management should be part of the engagement.
- Outfitting guidance for personal and group systems, including what to bring, what to avoid, and how to simplify the kit for the route.
- Food and menu planning, including high-calorie, high-protein, ultralight, and vegetarian approaches.
- Coordination guidance for shuttles, trailhead logistics, resupply, or stock support where appropriate.
Every service plan can be tailored to the group, destination, season, skill level, and desired level of support.
Rates
Expedition consulting, advisory, planning, outfitting guidance, and guiding services use the following day-rate schedule.
- 2022 day rate: $2,000, effective for any 2022 project booked after January 1, 2021.
- 2023 day rate: $2,100, effective for any 2023 project booked after January 1, 2022.
- 2024 day rate: $2,200, effective for any 2024 project booked after January 1, 2023.
- 2025 day rate: $2,375, effective for any 2025 project booked after January 1, 2024.
- 2026 day rate: $2,450, effective for any 2026 project booked after January 1, 2025.
- 2027 day rate: $2,550, effective for any 2027 project booked after January 1, 2026.
