Find Your Bacon

I had rather be shut up in a very modest cottage with my books, my family and a few old friends, dining on simple bacon, and letting the world roll on as it liked, than to occupy the most splendid post, which any human power can give.” – Thomas Jefferson

2009 will be remembered as the year in which we simplified our lives. Rising unemployment, massive decay in equity markets, and the need for increased rest and refuge from having to deal with too many things that are simply out of our control will guarantee it – for some.

You see, making the choice to “want to” simplify is easy. Doing it is quite another.

So while the recession we face will drive many to the “lighter” side of life, others will go down kicking and screaming, chained to that block of sinking concrete they see as … optimism.

(You know, like heavyweight backpackers.)

So hang on to the moments of fleeting bliss where the simple flavor of bacon washes through your senses!
